For a richer flavor, use Gruyere or Swiss cheese instead of Cheddar.

To prevent the crust from browning too quickly, you can cover the edges of the baking dish with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
This quiche can be made ahead of time and reheated. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
