Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a loaf pan. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a small bowl, combine panko, milk, and egg. Allow to soften, approximately 5 minutes. (5 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate bowl, thoroughly combine ground beef, sausage, onion, 3 tablespoons of the marinara sauce, and garlic salt. Add the panko mixture and mix by hand until just combined. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Pat half of the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Arrange 2 string cheese sticks side-by-side horizontally on top of the meat, leaving about 1/2 inch of space from the ends of the pan. Stack the remaining cheese sticks on top of the first layer. Cover with the remaining meat mixture. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and cover with the remaining marinara sauce. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes. (60 minutes)

06

Step

While the meatloaf bakes, prepare the Alfredo sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring with a wooden spoon, about 1 minute. Add the heavy cream and stir until combined. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until blended and smooth. Season with a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg. (10 minutes)

07

Step

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Pour the Alfredo sauce down the middle of the meatloaf. Slice and serve immediately. (10 minutes)

For a richer flavor, consider using a blend of ground beef and ground pork.
Feel free to experiment with different types of Italian sausage, such as sweet or spicy, to customize the flavor profile.
If you don't have string cheese on hand, you can substitute with shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese.
The Alfredo sauce can be made ahead of time and gently reheated before serving.

Easy to follow recipe and the results were delicious. I added a little red pepper flake to the Alfredo sauce for a touch of heat.

The kids loved this! A great way to sneak in some extra veggies – I finely grated some zucchini into the meat mixture.
