For a richer flavor, consider using golden raisins in addition to, or in place of, regular raisins. If you don't have pre-baked pie crust, you can blind-bake your own. Be sure to cool it completely before filling. To prevent a skin from forming on the cooling raisin mixture, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface. A sprinkle of ground nutmeg on top of the finished pie adds a lovely aroma and flavor.
