For an even deeper flavor, consider adding a parmesan cheese rind to the sauce while it simmers. Remember to remove it before serving. If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to partially blend the sauce after it has simmered for a few hours. This sauce is excellent with other meats as well, such as ground beef or meatballs. To prevent sticking, stir the sauce every 20-30 minutes during the simmering process.
