Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, sage, dried garlic, thyme, salt, allspice, and paprika. Reserve 2/3 of the spice mixture. Sprinkle the remaining 1/3 evenly over all sides of the pork chops. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

02

Step
8 mins

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook until browned on both sides, about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer the pork chops to a plate and set aside. (Cook time: 6-10 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the sliced apples and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. (Cook time: 5 minutes)

04

Step
2 mins

Stir in the apple juice, brown sugar, and the reserved spice mixture. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. (Prep time: 2 minutes)

05

Step
5 mins

Return the pork chops to the skillet. Cover and simmer until the pork chops are no longer pink in the center and reach your desired level of doneness, about 5 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the chops should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). (Cook time: 5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use bone-in pork chops.
If you don't have Red Delicious apples, Honeycrisp or Granny Smith apples also work well.
A splash of apple cider vinegar can add a nice tang to the sauce.
Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
