Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Add ziti pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain well. (10-12 minutes)

03

Step

Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 12 minutes. Immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath to cool. Peel and dice the eggs. (20 minutes)

04

Step

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the diced tomato, olives, sliced bell peppers (red, yellow, and green), sliced onion, diced eggs, oregano, and garlic salt. Add the pasta sauce and mix until well combined. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Pour the drained pasta into the bowl with the vegetable and sauce mixture. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Grease a large, deep casserole dish. Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top, ensuring the edges are well covered. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake on a low rack for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Remove the lid or foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is lightly golden brown. (35 minutes)

08

Step

Let the pasta rest for 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving. (10 minutes)

For a richer flavor, try using a combination of mozzarella and provolone cheese.
Feel free to add other vegetables to the dish, such as mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach.
If you prefer a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
To prevent the pasta from sticking, toss it with a little olive oil after draining.
This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.

I found the cheese was burning a bit, so I covered the dish with foil for the last 15 minutes of baking.
