Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Grill: Preheat your grill to high heat. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Foil the Grill (prevents sticking): Line the preheated grill with a sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Season the Chicken: Drizzle the chicken breasts with olive oil and season generously on both sides with salt and pepper. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Sear the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the foil-lined grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the chicken is lightly browned. (8 minutes)

05

Step

Slow Cook the Chicken: Transfer the seared chicken to a slow cooker (lining it with a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup, if desired). Pour in the water and BBQ sauce. Cook on high heat for 3 hours or on low heat for 5-6 hours, or until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds. (180 minutes)

06

Step

Shred the Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker to keep warm. (10 minutes)

07

Step

Prepare the Coleslaw: In a medium bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated. Adjust seasonings to taste. (5 minutes)

08

Step

Assemble the Sliders: Spoon a generous amount of the pulled BBQ chicken onto the bottom halves of the sweet rolls. Top with a spoonful of creamy coleslaw and finish with the top halves of the rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy! (5 minutes)

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the BBQ sauce in the slow cooker.
If you don't have a grill, you can sear the chicken in a hot skillet on the stovetop before transferring it to the slow cooker.
For best results, allow the coleslaw to sit for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
Feel free to experiment with different types of BBQ sauce to customize the flavor of the sliders.

The only change I made was to add a little bit of hot sauce to the BBQ sauce for some extra heat.
