For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of jalapeño or remove the seeds and membranes entirely.
Fresh nopales can be used instead of canned. If using fresh, be sure to clean and cook them thoroughly to remove any spines and mucilage.
Serve with warm tortillas, rice, and your favorite toppings like cilantro, onion, and a squeeze of lime for a complete and authentic Mexican meal.
