For a richer flavor, try using browned butter. Cook the butter until it turns a nutty brown color before adding the cabbage. Feel free to add other herbs, such as caraway seeds or parsley, to complement the dill. If you prefer a sweeter cabbage, add a teaspoon of sugar or a splash of apple cider vinegar during the last 10 minutes of cooking. This dish is great served immediately, but also reheats well. The flavors meld together even more after a day or two in the refrigerator.
