Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (Prep Time: 5 minutes)

02

Step

Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper to prevent sticking.(Prep Time: 2 minutes)

03

Step

Spoon approximately 2 teaspoons of Parmesan cheese onto the prepared baking sheet. Gently spread the cheese into thin, even circles, about 2 inches in diameter. Ensure the circles are spaced at least 1 inch apart to allow for even baking and easy removal.(Prep Time: 8 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown around the edges, about 4 to 5 minutes. Monitor closely to prevent burning.(Bake Time: 5 minutes)

05

Step

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the Parmesan circles cool slightly until they are pliable but still warm, about 1-2 minutes.(Cool Time: 2 minutes)

06

Step

Gently lift each warm cheese wafer from the baking sheet and drape it over an inverted small bowl, ramekin, or muffin tin to form a basket shape. Press lightly to mold the cheese to the desired form.(Forming Time: 10 minutes)

07

Step

Allow the Parmesan baskets to cool completely and harden in their molded shape, about 10-15 minutes.(Cool Time: 15 minutes)

08

Step

Once cooled and firm, carefully remove the Parmesan baskets from the molds. Store in an airtight container at room temperature until ready to use.

For added flavor, experiment with incorporating a pinch of red pepper flakes, dried herbs (such as oregano or thyme), or freshly ground black pepper into the Parmesan cheese before baking.
To create larger baskets, simply increase the amount of cheese used per circle and spread it into a larger diameter. Adjust baking time accordingly.
If the Parmesan baskets become too brittle to mold, briefly return them to the warm oven for a few seconds to soften before shaping.
These baskets are best served fresh, as they can soften over time. For optimal crispness, assemble your appetizers just before serving.
