Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the green food coloring, mixing until the desired shade is achieved. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (3 minutes)

06

Step

Gently fold in 3/4 cup of the M&M's. The dough will be quite stiff. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie. (10 minutes)

08

Step

Gently press the remaining M&M's onto the tops of the cookie dough balls. (5 minutes)

09

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. (10 minutes)

10

Step

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. (10 minutes)

For a more intense green color, use gel food coloring.
Do not overbake the cookies for the best soft and chewy texture.
Feel free to substitute other holiday-themed candies for the M&M's.
The dough can be made ahead of time and chilled for up to 24 hours. Let it come to room temperature slightly before scooping and baking.
