Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon until it is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease. (Approximately 8-10 minutes)

02

Step

Add the stewed tomatoes, corn, green beans, red beans, and chopped onion to the skillet with the browned ground beef. (Approximately 2 minutes)

03

Step

Season with oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine all ingredients. (Approximately 1 minute)

04

Step

Bring the stew to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for at least 50 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a richer flavor. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. (Simmer for 50-120 minutes)

05

Step

Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving. Serve hot with large pieces of crusty bread for dipping.

For a deeper flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce or a dash of smoked paprika.
If you have a slow cooker, you can transfer the stew to the slow cooker after browning the beef and simmer on low for 6-8 hours.
Feel free to customize the vegetables to your liking. Diced bell peppers, carrots, or celery would be great additions.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
