Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. (7 minutes)

03

Step

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and diced corned beef. Add the sautéed onion, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese, and garlic powder. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the mixture is smooth. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Carefully cut off the top of the Italian bread loaf. Hollow out the inside of the loaf, tearing the bread into bite-sized chunks, leaving approximately ½ inch of bread on all sides to form a sturdy bread bowl. Reserve the bread chunks for dipping. (15 minutes)

05

Step

Spoon the corned beef mixture evenly into the prepared bread bowl. Wrap the entire bread bowl tightly with aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour to 1 ½ hours, or until the dip is fully heated through, bubbling, and the bread bowl is lightly toasted. (90 minutes)

07

Step

Carefully remove from oven, unwrap, and let cool slightly before serving.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of Dijon mustard to the dip mixture.
If you don't have Italian bread, a sourdough or French bread loaf works well as a substitute.
To prevent the bread bowl from becoming soggy, you can brush the inside with melted butter and toast it lightly before filling with the dip.
This dip can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Add about 15 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the fridge.
