For a smoky flavor, try using smoked paprika in addition to the chili seasoning. If you prefer a thicker chili, you can add a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water) towards the end of the cooking time. This chili tastes even better the next day as the flavors continue to develop in the refrigerator.
