Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine half of the drained chickpeas, soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, wasabi powder, garlic, and black pepper. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure even incorporation. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Add the remaining chickpeas to the blender, reserving 5-7 whole chickpeas for garnish. Blend until completely smooth, using the reserved chickpea liquid to achieve a creamy consistency. (3 minutes)

03

Step

Combine the two chickpea mixtures in a bowl and stir well to combine. (1 minute)

04

Step

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Create a shallow well in the center with the back of a spoon. Drizzle generously with olive oil and garnish with the reserved whole chickpeas. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. (60 minutes)

For a smoother hummus, remove the skins from the chickpeas before blending.
Adjust the amount of wasabi powder to your personal preference. Start with less and add more to taste.
Try adding a pinch of toasted sesame seeds for added texture and flavor.
Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers.
