Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) with rack in top third of oven. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Place crabmeat, bell pepper, celery, and mozzarella cheese in a mixing bowl; gently stir in creamy salad dressing, dried onion, parsley, and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and black pepper. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Place 1 sole fillet on a flat work surface; place 1/4 crabmeat filling onto one end. Roll fillet over filling; secure with a toothpick. Repeat with remaining sole fillets and crabmeat filling. Place rolled fillets in a close-fitting baking dish, side by side; cover dish with aluminum foil. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove foil; sprinkle fillets evenly with bread crumbs. Continue baking until fillets flake easily with a fork and filling is hot, 10 to 15 minutes more. (25-30 minutes)

For a richer flavor, consider using real crabmeat instead of imitation. Adjust seasoning to your liking; a squeeze of lemon juice can brighten the flavors.
Ensure the sole fillets are patted dry before stuffing to prevent a soggy result. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Using panko bread crumbs gives it a nice, crispy topping.

  • Gwendolyn Kautzer

I found the filling a little too sweet, so I added a squeeze of lemon juice. It balanced the flavors perfectly.

Next time, I'll try adding some Old Bay seasoning to the crab mixture for extra flavor.

Be careful not to overbake the sole, or it will dry out.

A great way to get my kids to eat fish! They loved the filling.

Freezes well! I made a batch ahead of time and baked it straight from frozen (added about 10 minutes to the baking time).

  • Jayne Kuhlman

I didn't have celery, so I used green onions instead. It worked out great!
