Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a medium baking dish. (5 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

In a medium bowl, gently combine the sliced squash, cream of celery soup, and diced onion until well mixed. (5 minutes)

03

Step
10 mins

Spread about 3/4 cup of the dry bread stuffing mix evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating a base layer. Then, top with half of the squash mixture, spreading it evenly. Season generously with freshly ground black pepper, and sprinkle half of the cubed processed cheese food over the squash mixture. (10 minutes)

04

Step
10 mins

Repeat the layers: add the remaining squash mixture, followed by the remaining cheese. Top with the remaining stuffing mix. Evenly arrange the butter slices across the surface of the stuffing mix. Carefully pour water over the entire dish, ensuring even moisture distribution. (10 minutes)

05

Step
1 hrs

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove the foil and bake for additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown and the stuffing is heated through. (60 minutes)

For a richer flavor, try using a combination of yellow squash and zucchini.
If you prefer a crispier top, broil the stuffing for the last few minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
Feel free to add other vegetables like sliced mushrooms, or bell peppers for added flavor and nutrition.
