Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season generously on both sides with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. (2 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Heat olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Place salmon fillets in the hot skillet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Sear for 5-6 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown and the flesh is mostly cooked through. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. (8-9 minutes)

03

Step
6 mins

While the salmon is cooking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine honey, water, brown sugar, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic. (2 minutes)

04

Step
1 mins

Bring the glaze to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the glaze has thickened to a syrupy consistency. Be careful not to burn the glaze. (7-9 minutes)

05

Step
0 mins

Once the salmon is cooked, remove the skillet from the heat. Pour the honey garlic glaze evenly over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated. (1 minute)

06

Step

Serve immediately. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, if desired.

For a deeper flavor, use smoked paprika instead of regular paprika.
If you don't have brown sugar, you can substitute with white sugar, but the brown sugar adds a richer flavor.
Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the heat level of the glaze.
For a thicker glaze, simmer for a few extra minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
This dish pairs well with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
