Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Generously spray 16 cavities of a 20-cup donut pan with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt for the donuts. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Carefully pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about three-quarters full. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the donuts cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely while you prepare the glaze. (20 minutes)

05

Step

For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and peppermint extract. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking until the glaze is smooth and glossy. If the glaze is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk at a time until you reach the desired consistency. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Once the donuts are cool, dip the top of each donut into the prepared glaze, allowing the excess to drip off. Return the glazed donuts to the wire rack. Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the wet glaze. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Allow the glaze to set and harden completely before serving, about 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy your homemade Chocolate-Peppermint Cake Donuts! (15 minutes)

For a more intense peppermint flavor, add an additional 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the glaze.
If you don't have a piping bag, you can use a resealable plastic bag with a corner cut off to pipe the batter into the donut pan.
Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
