For a heartier sauce, substitute crushed tomatoes for whole peeled tomatoes, or add 1/2 can of tomato paste.
Fresh basil can be used in place of dried basil. Use about 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil and add it at the end of cooking.
A pinch of red pepper flakes can be added for a touch of heat.
Serve over your favorite spaghetti noodles, cooked al dente.
