Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry. Place between plastic sheets and pound to 1/2- to 3/4-inch thickness. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Spice It Up: Combine all dry spices in a bowl; divide in half. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Marinate: Rub half the spice mixture onto the chicken. Refrigerate for 1 to 8 hours. (1 hour minimum)

04

Step

Prep the Veggies: Toss bell peppers and onion with 1 tablespoon olive oil and the remaining spice mix. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Sear the Chicken: Heat cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat with remaining 2 tablespoons oil. Cook chicken until browned, 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a cutting board. (10 minutes)

06

Step

Sauté the Vegetables: Add vegetables to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Combine and Finish: Slice chicken into 1/2-inch strips; return to the skillet with the vegetables. Cook until chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. (3 minutes)

08

Step

Lime Time: Remove from heat and drizzle lime juice over the fajitas. Stir well. (1 minute)

09

Step

Serve: Serve immediately in warm tortillas with your favorite toppings.

For best results, marinate the chicken overnight to allow the flavors to fully develop.
If you don't have a cast-iron skillet, a large stainless steel skillet will also work.
Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for the best texture.
Experiment with different toppings like guacamole, sour cream, salsa, or pico de gallo to customize your fajitas.
