Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic salt, and black pepper.

02

Step
5 mins

Gently press the beef cubes into the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.

03

Step
30 mins

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, cook and stir the beef in the hot oil until browned on all sides (about 5 minutes per batch). Use a slotted spoon to transfer the browned beef to a bowl and set aside.

04

Step
4 hrs

In a slow cooker, whisk together the water and beef stew seasoning mix until the seasoning is fully dissolved. Add the browned beef, potatoes, onion, diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, and hot pepper sauce.

05

Step
30 mins

Cover and cook on High for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours, or until the beef is very tender.

06

Step

Stir in the frozen corn and continue cooking until the corn is heated through, about 30 minutes more. Serve hot.

For an even richer flavor, sear the beef in bacon fat instead of olive oil.
Adjust the amount of hot pepper sauce to suit your spice preference. A dash of cayenne pepper can also be added for extra heat.
Serve with a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt to balance the spiciness.
